10 Best GNO Spots in Boston

As always, quick disclaimer, this post is totally opinion based. My friends and I have our own idea’s of where we like to go in Boston when we are having our bi-weekly GNO. Perhaps you’ll find that you and your girls hit the same spots! Either way, I’m just going to share some of my thoughts on what I think the 10 best trendy GNO spots are, and why I love them. Feel free to totally disagree!

Good news is, if you hate my suggestions, you can chalk this post up as a loss and move on. But maybe, just maybe, I’ll give you some good ideas or spur a “AHHH I LOVE that place!” head nod in your noggin.

Top 10: Best Boston GNO Spots

Yvonne’s

Why: Ambiance is AMAZING. The host stand makes the place look just like a speakeasy — you think you are in a hair salon (there are salon chairs) and then the door opens and BAM you are an a trendy dark bar and lounge with 3 different bars! (One of which is secret)

What: Chicken Quinoa Meatballs & Tuna Crudo.

Where: Downtown Crossing

Wink & Nod

Why: Snack food and cocktails are on point! Graze on yummy small plates and sip insta-worthy cocktails with your BFFs at this cocktail bar!

What: Black Truffle Chicken Nuggets & Short Rib Tacos.

Where: South End

Citrus and Salt

Why: YUMMY Mexican tapas style food, bright walls and accent pieces, and girly ambiance. Mexican bar meets tropical tiki hut. (Tip: sit at the high tops for brunch)

What: Tequila & Simple Jonah Crab Tostadas

Where: Back Bay

Lolita’s

Why: I’ve never met someone who doesn’t like it here. From the food, to the drinks to the bar area and opportunities to socialize … yeah, most definitely a hot spot. Not to mention they give you grapefruit tequila ice at the beginning of your meal and cotton candy at the end!

What: Margaritas, Guac, and literally any taco

Where: Back Bay & Seaport

Barcelona Wine Bar

Why: Spanish style tapas and amazing wine selection. Most deff the place you go to when you want to drink lots of wine and snack on really good food. Also the bread is out of this world for some reason — if you’ve been you know what I’m talking about don’t even lie. The bar areas are also hopping on weekends.

What: Charcuterie + Cheese, Patatas Bravas & Rosé

Where: Brookline & South End

Committee

Why: Greek food with a city twist! Double sided bar, high tops, outdoor area, fabulous drinks — a great place to dress up and go with your friends to socialize with others before perhaps heading next door to Empire, Scorpion Bar or the Grand.

What: Shrimp Kataifi, Lobster Toast & Crane Kick Drink

Where: Seaport

Zuma

Why: Two words: Japanese Tapas. (I totally seem to be on a tapas trend here don’t I?) Be sure to snap a pic in front of the grass wall right outside the restaurant. (No shame guys everyone does it) Super high end, super trendy and also super NEW! Opened in 2019!

What: Watari gani maki & Shishito Peppers

Where: Four Seasons One Dalton (Back Bay/Prudential)

Drink

Why: Literally just a bar. BUT it’s a bar where the bartenders craft special cocktails just for YOU. Tell your bartender what spirit you like, what flavors you like, and they will make you the most perfect cocktail. Hungry too? Their burger SLAPS.

What: Everything.

Where: Fort Point

Strip by Strega

Why: Fancy in house dining meets trendy bar and lounge. You get the best of both worlds here. Indulge in a fancy dinner with all of the fixings, and then move over to the bar area to socialize, drink and listen to the DJ spin some shot worthy beats.

What: Zuppa di Pesce, Petite Filet, & the Bella Luna Drink

Where: Back Bay

Lola 42

Why: Delectable sushi, Japanese izakaya-style bites & global dishes that pair great with any cocktail. I’ve been here for several birthday’s and Lola 42 never let’s us down!

What: Sushi, BIBIMBAP, the Vegan Burger and Lola’s Rum Punch (yes there is alcohol in that don’t let the taste fool you)

Where: Seaport
